Good News Everybody! Spring has sprung and we are back out in the garden. Wade has decided mowing the lawn out the front is too time consuming, so hatched a plan to cover it all in tree bark. Results are above, still some tweaking to do and some plants to put in but we are generally happy with how it looks. Wade also put in a great new path with our stacked up bricks and even added my requested circle in the middle. Lillian the Pup is our model in this shot.
Isn't this photo beautiful?
It is a chive flower just beginning to bloom.
Thanks to Ken for the cuttings, our rosemary 'hedge' is getting closer, the rosemary is happy in this spot and I think looks good against the tree bark. We also took some cuttings, and if they take, we will add a few more plants in there to get the 'hedge' look going.
Above is how the front of the house is looking now, path full of weeds as usual. As you can see we haven't started any bark on the other side of the path yet. it could be a while before that happens. Overall it was fairly cost effective, we got two loads of bark from the tree loping place in town. fairly labour intensive, Jordan and Wade barrowed alot of loads of bark from the driveway! In the background you can see the wisteria about to bloom, last weekend we began
operation: 'de-wisteria the fence'
We can report success in the operation, a bit of collateral damage with some of the branches growing right through the fence. Of Course now we have a whole bundle of Wisteria hanging about to deal with. General plan is to support it somehow, off the fence, up high for some privacy from next door, but exactly how is still unknown, we're open to any suggestions.
Travelling further around the house we have this photo:
Those viewing this with an accurate eye out there should not try and see if the wisteria frame is straight or level in any way, as we do not speak of its askew nature in front of Wade ;). In the back ground you can see the garden is looking lush, well past the 'classy' dog fence, then it looks lush... but not as far up as the dodgy area next to the shed... that part just looks dodgy at the moment.
